Craft n Chat MHST summer drop-ins 2024 (PDF)
This summer 2024 we warmly invite all children and young people currently open to MHST to come along to our Craft ‘n Chat summer drop-ins. It doesn’t matter whether you are on the waiting list or already receiving support. We offer friendly chats, advice and mental health support over the summer. There will be crafts, drawing and games too. No need to book! Just come along.
Note: Familiar adults/parents/carers are expected to stay during the session.
Friendship Academy parent information (PDF)
The Friendship Academy is a 4-week course exploring different types of friendship, assertiveness, resilience and problem solving. Each session lasts for 1 hour or lesson.
This course aims to help children and young people experiencing friendship difficulties and give them to the tools to make friends and build confidence and resilience.
FTB MHST Promoting Positive Mental Health in Children and Young People from Ethnic Minority Communities (powerpoint)
The aim of this training session is to:
- Raise awareness of the inequalities in mental health that individuals from Ethnic Minorities experience.
- Develop a better understanding of additional barriers to accessing support with mental health that individuals from Ethic Minorities face.
- Empower staff to feel more confident in supporting children, young people and families.
FTB Primary Healthy Sleep Assembly (powerpoint)
The aim of this training session is to:
- Educate on the Importance of Sleep – Help young people understand why sleep is essential for their physical and mental well-being, including its role in memory, mood regulation, concentration, and overall health.
- Promote Healthy Sleep Habits – Teach practical strategies for improving sleep hygiene, such as maintaining a consistent bedtime routine, reducing screen time before bed, and creating a comfortable sleep environment.
- Address Barriers to Sleep – Identify common sleep disruptors (e.g., stress, caffeine, irregular schedules) and provide young people with tools to manage these challenges effectively.

MHST Catalogue 2025 updated (PDF)
Welcome to FTB’s MHST Catalogue 2024, supporting our MHST schools with the Whole School Approach to mental health in line with the national model. To support our MHST schools, we take a multi-angle approach:
• We offer support to Mental Health Leads in developing a successful Whole-School Approach to Mental Health, including best practice sessions, training, drop-ins, advice slots, and more.
• Raising awareness of mental health amongst pupils through assemblies.
• Empowering pupils by teaching coping strategies through hands-on workshops and programmes. We continue to review and develop our workshop programme and will send updated catalogues to reflect this.
• Upskilling the system around the pupil through staff and parent/carer workshops and programmes.
• Being mindful of staff wellbeing, providing resources and advice.
• Specific workshops /training can be requested in response to your school’s needs.
MHST F2F Helping your child with fears and worries (docx)
5-week course for parents/carers of primary school-aged children struggling with anxiety, worries or separation anxiety.
The course is a gold standard, evidence-based approach that uses Cognitive Behavioural Therapy principles and it is highly effective at helping you to reduce your child’s fears and worries.
In this course, we will aim to give you a clear step-by-step approach to help you support your child.
