National Wellness Month in August

National Wellness Month 2025 — United Kingdom

When:

All through August 2025 — from Friday, 1 August through Sunday, 31 August 🇬🇧

National Wellness Month is an internationally recognised occasion created in 2018 by Live Love Spa to inspire individuals and organisations to refocus on self‑care, stress reduction, and healthy daily habits — mental, physical, and emotional alike.

∆

Why It’s Important in the UK

  • Rising stress and burnout: As workplace stress and mental health concerns grow, intentional wellbeing initiatives make a real difference.

  • Holistic health approach: The month serves as a reminder that wellness goes beyond gym time—it’s about sleep quality, social connection, hydration, movement, mindfulness, and more.

  • Benefits for everyone: British employers who embed wellness into company culture can see higher engagement, lower turnover, and better organisational performance.

How the UK Can Celebrate

For Individuals

  • Take the “I Choose Wellness” Pledge — commit to one small healthy action each day. Track it with the 31‑day wellness calendar, and share your journey using hashtags like #NationalWellnessMonth, #Wellfie, and #IChooseWellness  .

  • Adopt healthy habits — drink more water, add fruits and veg, practice mindfulness or gratitude, move daily, improve your sleep setup.

For Workplaces & Organisations

  • Host wellness workshops and webinars — on mental health, nutrition, stress management, or sleep hygiene. Ideal for HR teams and staff retreats.

  • Launch wellness challenges — e.g. step-count contests, meditation streaks, virtual yoga or walking clubs, or a collaborative “Wellness Kudosboard” where colleagues share tips and encouragement.

  • Provide wellness refreshers — healthy snack hampers, hydration stations, pause spaces, and guest talks on mental or emotional wellbeing.

For Community Groups & Local Councils

  • Arrange public wellness events — free yoga in parks, community mindfulness sessions, neighbourhood walks, outdoor Tai Chi, or nutrition talks.

  • Share resources with local audiences—printable calendars, self-care toolkits, and wellbeing webinars geared toward different age groups.

Why It Works

  • Improves mental resilience — structured support during this month can help reduce anxiety and burnout.

  • Promotes lasting habits — small daily practices can develop into long-term changes.

  • Strengthens community — collective wellbeing efforts foster connection and mutual care.

  • Supports employers and society — healthier people are more productive, engaged, and fulfilled.
