Snack-Tember 2025!

Snack-tember 2025: A Month of Healthier, Greener Snacking

September 2025 marks the debut of Snack-tember, a fresh, month-long initiative from the British Nutrition Foundation, designed to inspire children and young people (ages 5–16) across the UK to embrace healthier and more sustainable snacks.

Why Snack-tember Matters

Traditionally celebrated through a week-long Healthy Eating campaign, this year the BNF has extended it throughout September to give schools, families, and communities more time to explore and embed better snacking habits.

Their ambitious goal? To engage 6,000 schools and reach over 1 million young people with practical, inspiring content.

What’s On Offer

Participants can tap into a treasure trove of free resources:

  • Classroom Materials: Engaging activities, posters, and printables that highlight the core snacking actions of “Explore,” “Try,” and “Make”.

  • Hero Snack Recipes: Simple, budget-friendly, and tasty creations including fruit & oat bites, homemade popcorn, paprika tortilla chips with spring onion dip, beany dip with crunchy veg, and soon—pizza muffins.

  • Support for Schools: Catering guides, information sheets for parents and carers, and vibrant campaign visuals like flyers and posters to enliven school corridors and cafeterias.

Embracing Sustainable Choices

Snack-tember promotes snacks rich in fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, beans, and pulses, while cutting down on saturated fats, added sugars, and excess salt—a win for both health and sustainability.

Getting Involved

Schools, clubs, and activity groups serving young people are encouraged to register now to access the full suite of Snack-tember materials. Whether you’re a teacher aiming to spark positive food conversations or a parent looking to spice up snack time creatively, now’s the perfect moment to act.

Why This Campaign Matters

Early habits shape lifelong health. With snacking embedded in children’s routines—often 2–3 times a day—making those choices count can make a big difference. By reframing snack time as an opportunity for nutrition and fun, Snack-tember helps build healthier patterns that endure well beyond autumn.
