BreatheEducation is part of the Breathe group a partnership of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Birmingham City Council Educational Psychology Unit and University of Warwick.  BreatheEducation is committed to preserving your privacy and will only collect, process and store your data in accordance with data protection laws

Your rights regarding your data

BreatheEducation is compliant with all requirements of GDPR and as such provides the following rights to individuals; the right to be informed, the right to access, the right to rectification, the right to erase, the right to restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, rights in relation to automated decision making and profiling

The information we collect

At present there is no registration process for accessing BreatheEducation therefore the only data we collect will be related to your browser (see section on cookies) which we use for the evaluation of the website (for example most downloaded resources) and anonymous.  In the future we hope to allow users to register to access extra content, functionality and sign-up to mailing list.  As and when these changes occur we will update our privacy policy and inform you to ensure we are still protecting your usage rights and data.

Sharing data with third parties

As we do currently collect any personal data with do not share any of your data with third parties.

Third party website linkage

BreatheEducation operates as single point of access (SPOA) for users; it therefore contains links to other websites and resources outside of itself.  We do not represent any other websites therefore when accessing another website via links on this site you do so on the understanding that they are independent and out of the control of BreatheEducation.  This means we cannot control what information any independent website collects about you and you should refer to the independents privacy policy to understand how your personal information is used.

Individualised mental health related support and information

We are unable to provide direct individualised mental health and wellbeing support/and or create referrals to services direct from BreatheEducation.   Please do not send us your personal details and/or sensitive data regarding yourself or your own mental health.  We have a button located in the top right hand corner for urgent help which can be used to access emergency contacts.

Cookies policy

Data retention and keeping your data secure

BreatheEducation will retain your data only as long as required, a legitimate purpose exists and is permitted under the data protection law guidance.  Any data we do collect is protected against unauthorised access of disclosure with BreatheEducation taking all reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard information. 

We currently do not collect personal data.  If changes occur to in the processing personal data we will update our privacy policy and inform you to ensure we are still protecting your usage rights and data.
